Trucking, bus driving, fishing, mining, farming, and the unified /jobs hub.
Roleplay Project ships a number of legal income streams. They're designed so you can earn enough to roleplay properly without it feeling like a grind.
The /jobs hub
/jobs opens a unified panel showing:
- Overview — combined earnings across all jobs, current active job, hours worked.
- Trucking — cargo runs (see below), live progress for an in-flight shipment, lifetime stats, history of recent jobs.
- Bus Driver — rank, performance score, current shift, route history, tips.
This hub is the central management view. To start a job, you still go to the in-world depot/terminal NPC and use the prompt — the hub just tracks state.
Trucking
Pick up cargo at a Trucking Depot, deliver it across a chain of stops, get paid per stop + a completion bonus.
- Depots: Davis (Mission Row), East LS (port).
- Cargo classes: light / medium / heavy. Heavier pays more but the truck handles worse.
- Pay structure: Base payment + bonus per stop completed + distance multiplier.
- One in-flight job at a time. Cancel via
/cancelshipmentif needed (forfeits payment). - Company cut: if you're trucking for a company you're employed by, a percentage goes to the company treasury.
The UI tracks every stop visually with checkpoint markers; the bottom HUD shows distance to next stop and current cargo value.
Bus Driver
Run scheduled bus routes between terminals. Pay scales with rank, route length, and passenger pickups.
- Sign on at any Bus Terminal to start a shift.
- Routes are defined route-by-route by admins; you choose one when starting.
- Ranks: trainee → regular → senior → master. Routes completed and performance score (no-collisions, on-time arrivals) drive promotion.
- Tips: passengers can tip on completion of a leg. These add to your total but go to your character, not the route operator.
- Shift bonuses: complete enough routes in one shift and you get a flat bonus on clock-out.
Fishing
Buy a rod from a sporting-goods store or Vespucci pier kiosk. Walk to the end of any pier or shore spot. Stand still and the prompt will show "Press E to fish". Different spots have different fish populations and quality. Sell to fish markets at the docks.
Mining
Mining permits are sold at the Sandy Shores DIY shop. With one, walk into one of the marked mining zones (NE Chiliad, Grapeseed quarry) and break stone with a pickaxe. Rough ore → smelter → ingots → sell.
Farming
Apply for a farming licence at the Davis licensing department. Once licensed, work plots at a registered farm — plant, water, harvest, sell to the food co-op. The Farm Office (signposted on the GPS) is where you start a session; press E when standing in the office to see the manage UI.
Other paid roles
- Lumber jacking at Paleto sawmill.
- Garbage collection (legacy "trash routes") via Davis Waste Management.
- Postal delivery — pick up routes at the LS Post Office.
- Ride-hailing (Ryde) — register as a driver via
/ryde, accept fares from the public.
These don't all live in /jobs yet — most have their own depot UI right now. They'll migrate over to the hub in subsequent updates.
