Trading cards
First-Year (2026) collectibles — buy packs, open them, build a collection, export favourites.
Trading cards are a collectible series themed around life in San Andreas. The active set is First Year (2026) — 400 unique cards across five rarities.
Where to buy
Visit the Card Trader on Power Street, Mission Row. Walk up — when the bottom prompt shows "Press E to browse trading cards · Card Trader", press E.
Pack contents & odds
Each pack contains 5 cards with at least one rare-or-better guaranteed.
Pull rates (per slot, weighted across the 99 buckets):
| Rarity | Weight | ≈ pull rate |
|---|---|---|
| Common | 50 | ~50.5% |
| Uncommon | 25 | ~25.3% |
| Rare | 15 | ~15.2% |
| Epic | 8 | ~8.1% |
| Legendary | 1 | ~1.0% |
The 5th-slot guarantee uses different weights — 70% rare / 25% epic / 5% legendary.
Cash vs Project Points
You can buy packs with either:
- Cash ($750/pack) — in-game money. Cash-purchased cards can be exported to your inventory as physical items.
- Project Points (150 PP/pack) — premium-style currency. Cards stay virtual; can't be exported. This keeps PP from leaking into the inventory item economy.
Pack auto-opens on purchase so you don't have to dig through inventory to crack it.
The opening animation
Cards reveal common-first, legendary-last for the dramatic finale. Hovering a card adds a 3D tilt + holographic foil sweep that scales with rarity:
- Common: subtle sheen.
- Uncommon: soft holo-foil.
- Rare: prismatic flash.
- Epic: blurred chromatic shimmer.
- Legendary: full radial halo + mythos-tier glow.

Your collection
/collection (or /cards) opens your collection view:
- Sidebar — totals, active series, completion %.
- Main pane — all cards you've pulled, with sort + rarity filter.
- Per-card — details, who pulled it (which character), and an Export button if eligible.
Export to inventory
Cards bought with cash can be exported to your inventory as a trading_card item. Once exported:
- The card becomes a tangible item — droppable, tradable, robbable.
- It no longer counts in your collection's "owned" total.
- You can give it / sell it via the in-game card marketplace or hand-trade.
Cards bought with PP cannot be exported — see the rationale above.
Marketplace
Players can list owned cards on the in-game marketplace via the collection panel. The seller sets price (cash or PP) and the listing duration. When someone buys, the card transfers atomically — the system enforces seller ownership at the moment of transfer to prevent IDOR-style theft.
Sale window
The First Year (2026) pack is on sale from 2026-05-06 → 2027-12-31. After that the series goes off-sale; existing cards in player collections persist forever, but no new packs will be issued.
