Cutting & purity: stretching the bag.
Dealers can adulterate finished product with a cutting agent to multiply the gram weight in their bag, at the cost of one quality tier per cut. Buyers can torch a reagent kit before they buy to read the bag's quality and detect cuts. The cat-and-mouse between dealers and buyers is the whole point.
Cutting drugs with adulterants
/cut <itemType> <cutItem> <grams>
Hold the bag and the cutting agent. /cut cocaine_packaged cutting_agent_general 10 takes 10g of cocaine, applies the chosen cut, and returns a larger bag at one tier lower quality. The cutting agent is consumed.
| Drug | Light cut (1.25×) | Standard cut (1.5×) | Heavy cut (1.8×) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cocaine | +25% | +50% | +80% |
| Crack | +25% | +50% | +80% |
| Meth | +10% | +25% | +50% |
| Heroin | +10% | +25% | +50% |
Quality always drops by exactly one tier per cut: premium → good → medium → bad → trash. A bag at trash quality can still be cut, but the outcome is worthless, buyers can see right through it.
Per-drug cutting agents
| Drug | Cut item |
|---|---|
| Cocaine | cutting_agent_general |
| Crack | baking_soda |
| Meth | cutting_agent_stimulant |
| Heroin | cutting_agent_filler |
Worked example
You have 10g of good cocaine, baseline $120/g = $1,200 of value. Apply a light cut: 12.5g of medium cocaine, baseline ~$90/g (medium quality scales price down). New value ≈ $1,125, you lost some sticker value but you now sell to more buyers more cheaply, moving inventory faster. The right move depends on demand and how careful your buyers are.
Testing with reagent kits
/testdrug <itemType> <kit>
Burn a single-use kit before consuming or buying. Different kits read different things. Quality kits reveal everything; the fentanyl test strip is a single yes/no answer to a question that can kill you.
| Kit | Reveals |
|---|---|
marquis_kit | Quality tier + complete cut breakdown |
mecke_kit | Quality tier + complete cut breakdown |
fentanyl_test_strip | Presence of fentanyl, yes / no |
If a marquis test reveals cutWith: [{ itemType: 'fentanyl_raw' }] in a heroin bag, the dealer is trying to kill someone. Walk away, or burn them in.
Test in front of the dealer
OOC tip with IC roleplay payoff: when you buy from someone new, ask to torch a kit before the cash changes hands. A dealer who refuses is either careless or hiding something. Buyers who skip the test and die from a fentanyl-laced bag often blame the dealer publicly, reputation in this economy is everything.
